Great news! The Montpelier Idaho Temple is really coming together! With the parking lot freshly striped and the exterior lighting shining bright, it’s exciting to see progress happening. Landscaping and interior work are well underway, and we’re looking forward to construction wrapping up in early to mid-2026. Just think about the anticipation of the open house and dedication ceremonies that will follow—it’s sure to be a special time for our community!
Announced on May 20, 2022, this temple will be the eighth in Idaho, and it’s going to be a beautiful addition to our neighborhood. Located at Washington St, Montpelier, ID 83254, the temple features a charming central tower and spans 27,000 square feet. Inside, there will be two instruction rooms, two sealing rooms, and a baptistry, creating a warm and inviting space for worship and community gatherings.
Set against the stunning backdrop of Idaho and at an elevation of 5,969 feet, the temple sits on 2.6 acres of lovely land. The groundbreaking ceremony on June 17, 2023, led by Elder Ryan K. Olsen, was a wonderful occasion where blessings were shared for everyone involved. It’s heartwarming to think about the sense of peace and understanding that this temple will bring to our lives.
Our Montpelier community, with its friendly population of over 2,500, has a rich history that dates back to the early pioneers in 1855. The official rendering of the temple, revealed on April 24, 2023, showcases a design that truly reflects the spirit of our area.
As we watch this beautiful building take shape, there’s a shared excitement among us, knowing that each step is bringing us closer to creating a space that will enrich our community and strengthen our faith. We can’t wait to welcome everyone to this incredible new landmark!
