Nestled in the heart of Washington, the Moses Lake Washington Temple stands as a stunning testament to faith and community, recognized as the 182nd dedicated temple in operation. This beautiful structure was announced by the beloved Prophet Russell M. Nelson during the 189th Annual General Conference, igniting excitement and anticipation among many.
After an impressive open house that welcomed 290,000 visitors, the temple finally welcomed its first guests on September 17, 2023, thanks to the dedication by Apostle Quentin L. Cook. The temple, which is set on a sprawling 17 acres of land, showcases an exterior finish of elegant Branco Cristal granite sourced from Portugal, giving it a timeless and majestic appearance.
The architectural design is equally captivating, featuring a single attached central spire that rises to a height of 117 feet at an elevation of 1,157 feet. Inside, visitors will find a thoughtfully designed space that includes two instruction rooms, two sealing rooms, and a beautiful baptistry. With a total floor area of 28,933 square feet, the building accommodates various sacred activities while embodying serenity and reverence.
The temple’s design pays homage to the rich history of the Moses Lake area, incorporating a blossom motif and a prairie-style border pattern that reflect the heritage of the Native Americans who once inhabited this land. Throughout the interior, the stunning flooring combines luxurious marble, soft carpet, and sleek porcelain tile, creating an inviting ambiance.
As you explore the temple, don’t miss the intricate details, such as the bronze and glass font railings, elegant cherry-finished doors, and decorative hardware made from brass. The celestial room is particularly striking, boasting a ceiling adorned with decorative paint, coffers, and a magnificent dome, inviting a sense of peace and contemplation.
The Moses Lake Washington Temple is more than just a building; it’s a sanctuary that connects the community, provides spiritual insight, and stands as a symbol of faith and devotion, ready to welcome all who seek peace and inspiration.
