LDS Temple News Presents Oklahoma City Oklahoma Temple

Welcome to the stunning Oklahoma City Oklahoma Temple, a cherished landmark and the 95th dedicated temple in the world! Nestled at 12030 N Mustang Rd, Yukon, Oklahoma, this majestic structure has become a spiritual hub for many since its groundbreaking on July 3, 1999, by Elder Rex D. Pinegar.

The anticipation for this sacred site began with its announcement on March 14, 1999, and it truly came to life during the first public open house from July 8 to July 22, 2000. The temple was officially dedicated shortly thereafter on July 30, 2000, by the esteemed Apostle James E. Faust.

This beautiful temple, with its elegant beige limestone exterior and a striking single spire topped by a gold leafed statue of the Angel Moroni, captures the essence of classic modern design. Inside, visitors are greeted by exquisite Italian marble and a serene atmosphere that reflects its purpose as a place of worship and community gathering.

Encompassing just over an acre, the temple features two instruction rooms, two sealing rooms, and one baptistry. Standing tall at 83 feet 9 inches, it sits at an elevation of 1,202 feet, making it not only a spiritual beacon but also a visual landmark in the region.

After undergoing extensive renovations, the Oklahoma City Temple proudly reopened with a special rededication on May 19, 2019, by Apostle Henry B. Eyring, attracting members from Oklahoma, Kansas, Arkansas, and Missouri. It previously welcomed 9,000 members when it first dedicated and continues to serve as a vital spiritual home ever since.

With its serene grounds, complete with fountains and thoughtful landscaping, the Oklahoma City Oklahoma Temple is not just a building; it’s a place where faith flourishes, bringing comfort and peace to all who enter. Whether you’re visiting for the first time or returning to reflect, this temple stands as a remarkable testament to devotion and community.
