The story of the Raleigh North Carolina Temple began on September 3, 1998, when its announcement filled the air with excitement and anticipation. Just a few months later, on February 6, 1999, Loren C. Dunn conducted the groundbreaking and site dedication, marking the start of a beautiful journey.
After months of anticipation, the public was invited to experience the Raleigh North Carolina Temple firsthand during an open house from December 3rd to December 11th, 1999. This event allowed Temple members to step inside and admire the stunning architecture and serene atmosphere before the temple was officially dedicated by Prophet Gordon B. Hinckley over two memorable days, December 18th and 19th, 1999.
The Raleigh North Carolina Temple even held a second public open house from September 21st to September 28th, 2019, allowing a new generation to witness its beauty. Celebrating its significance, the second rededication took place on October 13, 2019, led by Apostle M. Russell Ballard, further embedding the temple in the fabric of the Temple.
