Announced on April 12, 1999, the journey to the Reno Nevada Temple began, igniting excitement and anticipation within the Temple. The groundbreaking and site dedication on July 24, 1999, led by Rex D. Pinegar.

After much anticipation, the Reno Nevada Temple opened its doors to the public from April 8th to 15th, 2000, allowing visitors to explore its beautiful grounds and feel a sense of belonging and reverence. The dedication, performed by the beloved Prophet Thomas S. Monson, infused the building with spiritual significance, solidifying its role as a sacred haven for Temple work and reflection.

Set on 7.9 acres of tranquil land, the Reno Nevada Temple’s exterior is strikingly finished with gray granite quarried from near Sharon, Vermont, a testament to its enduring beauty and strength. One of its most notable features is the single attached end spire, crowned with a gold-leafed Angel Moroni statue.

Inside, the Reno Nevada Temple spans 10,700 square feet, housing two instruction rooms, two sealing rooms, and one baptistry designed to facilitate sacred ordinances. Each Temple is thoughtfully crafted to foster spiritual growth and connection. Situated at an elevation of 5,195 feet, the Temple not only provides breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape but also serves as a constant reminder of the spiritual elevation accessible through faith.
