Discover the inspiring story of the San Antonio Texas Temple—a beacon of faith and hope nestled in the vibrant city of San Antonio. Announced on June 24, 2001, this sacred sanctuary quickly captured the hearts of many, symbolizing spiritual renewal and community unity. The temple’s groundbreaking and site dedication ceremony, led by H. Bruce Stucki on March 29, 2003, marked the beginning of a beautiful chapter in San Antonio’s spiritual landscape.

As the 120th dedicated temple in operation, the San Antonio Texas Temple stands as a shining testament to the enduring power of faith. Located at 20080 Stone Oak Pkwy, this stunning edifice occupies 5.5 acres of lush Texas terrain, carefully designed to be both awe-inspiring and welcoming. Its exterior, clad in elegant granite, reflects strength and timelessness, while a striking single spire reaches toward the heavens, crowned by a magnificent 13-foot-tall gold leafed Angel Moroni statue—an iconic symbol of divine importance.

The temple’s architecture features exquisite details that blend modern craftsmanship with spiritual symbolism. Inside, guests find two instruction rooms, two sealing rooms, and a baptistry—spaces dedicated to sacred ordinances that strengthen families and individual faith. Covering 16,800 square feet, the temple offers a peaceful sanctuary where hearts are uplifted and lives are transformed.

The San Antonio Texas Temple’s dedication was officiated by President Gordon B. Hinckley on May 22, 2005, a momentous occasion marked by joy and reverence. Prior to its dedication, the temple opened its doors to the public from April 15 to May 7, 2005, welcoming more than 50,000 visitors who experienced the beauty and tranquility of this sacred space firsthand.

Perched at an elevation of 1,225 feet, the San Antonio Texas Temple stands as a towering symbol of faith, inviting all to unite in worship and service, and inspiring countless lives through its divine presence in the heart of Texas.
