Exploring the Deseret Peak Utah Temple
The Deseret Peak Utah Temple, located at 2400 N 400 W in Tooele, Utah, proudly stands as the 200th Dedicated Temple of its kind. Announced by Prophet Russell M. Nelson on April 7, 2019, it marks a significant milestone in the rich history of dedicated Temples.
A Brief Journey to Dedication
The groundbreaking took place on May 15, 2021, led by Elder Brook P. Hales, a local General Authority. This event set in motion the construction of a 71,998-square-foot facility, making it a medium-sized entity within the global network of Temples. It occupies 15.5 acres and features a well-equipped meetinghouse spanning 20,000 square feet.
The official dedication on November 10, 2024, by Russell M. Nelson will usher in a new era for the local area. Although it does not currently have a gold-leafed Angel Moroni statue, the design is prepared to accommodate one in the future, much like several other newly constructed Temples.
