The announcement of the Ephraim Utah Temple on May 1, 2021, marked the beginning of a long-anticipated journey for many in the area. With deep roots in this charming small town, the Prophet Russell M. Nelson led the groundbreaking and site dedication ceremony on August 27, 2022. “My dear mother was born in Ephraim… All eight of my great-grandparents lived in Ephraim,” he shared, infusing the moment with personal significance and connecting the new temple to the lives and faith of generations past.

In his dedicatory prayer, he expressed gratitude for ancestries that laid a “foundation of faith”—a beautiful reminder of the heritage that many members hold dear.

Architectural Marvel

Spanning 39,000 square feet on 9.16 acres nestled at an elevation of 5,567 feet, the Ephraim Utah Temple is a sight to behold. Its unique architectural design features two elegantly crafted end towers, showcasing a modern aesthetic that complements the stunning Utah landscape. It’s noteworthy that unlike many other temples, this one stands without a gold-leafed Angel Moroni statue, setting it apart in its simple yet striking design.

Inside, the temple houses four instruction rooms, each able to seat 30 people, along with three sealing rooms and a single baptistry. This extensive layout allows for a thriving hub of spiritual activity, making it a sanctuary for worship, learning, and connection.
