LDS Temple News Presents the House of the Lord Fort Worth Texas Temple
Exciting times are ahead for Fort Worth, Texas! On Saturday, October 28, 2023, the groundbreaking ceremony for the Fort Worth Texas Temple added a vibrant chapter to the community’s story. The atmosphere buzzed with anticipation as Elder Jose L. Alonso, a General Authority Seventy and First Counselor in the North America Southwest Area Presidency, presided over the event. During his heartfelt dedicatory prayer, he reflected on the beauty of faith, saying, “Our hearts are full of appreciation for the treasured gift of Thy Beloved Son, Jesus Christ. His divine mission offers hope and purpose. Through His atonement, we find comfort during difficult times, and through His grace, we are empowered with strength and encouragement to serve our neighbors.” What a powerful reminder of the role of faith in our lives!

Since the public unveiling of its charming exterior rendering on October 31, 2022, everyone has been talking about how stunning it is. Nestled on a spacious 9.37 acres just north of SW Hulen Street and Greenridge Drive in Burleson, this single-story temple is sized to impress, covering around 30,000 square feet—plenty of space for worshippers to gather and celebrate together!
The excitement began back in October 2021 when President Russell M. Nelson made the thrilling announcement about the temple’s construction during General Conference. This site will become the sixth temple in Texas, a state that already boasts over 360,000 Latter-day Saints. Fort Worth is getting ready to embrace this magnificent new house of worship, located just northwest of Dallas and perched at an impressive 768 feet above sea level—perfect for taking in the breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape.
And if you’re wondering how it compares to other temples, look no further than the nearby Fort Collins Colorado Temple, which features two instruction rooms, two sealing rooms, and a baptistry. The Fort Worth Texas Temple is set to bring its own unique charm and features that will surely draw the community in!
