The journey of the Gilbert Arizona Temple began with its announcement on April 26, 2008. Following a period of anticipation, the groundbreaking ceremony was held on November 13, 2010, under the guidance of Elder Claudio R.M. Costa. This marked the official commencement of the construction phase.

Opening and Dedication

Before its dedication, an open house was held from January 18 to February 15, 2014, attracting an impressive 407,020 attendees. This event allowed many to explore its features and learn about its significance. The formal dedication took place on March 2, 2014, conducted by the Prophet Thomas S. Monson, and was read by Henry B. Eyring.

Spanning 85,326 square feet and standing at an impressive height of 195 feet, the Gilbert Arizona Temple occupies 15.38 acres and sits at an elevation of 1,269 feet. Its exterior is adorned with precast concrete panels that enhance its beauty and durability. The architectural design features a single attached central spire, crowned by a stunning Gold-leafed Angel Moroni Statue, which was installed on May 15, 2012.

Inside, the Temple offers three instruction rooms, seven sealing rooms, and one baptistry, designed to provide essential spaces for various religious practices.
