The Heber Valley Utah Temple: A New Addition to Utah’s Spiritual Landscape

The Heber Valley Utah Temple, located at 1400 E Center St, Heber City, Utah 84032, is making significant strides as its construction progresses. Recently, the injunction that had temporarily slowed down the project has been lifted, allowing for further development on this much-anticipated site.

Announced on October 3, 2021, the Heber Valley Utah Temple represents a new chapter in the region’s spiritual journey. The groundbreaking and site dedication occurred on October 8, 2022, officiated by President Russell M. Nelson, an event highlighted during the October 2021 General Conference.

Occupying an expansive 18.17-acre lot, this Temple is designed to be both functional and aesthetic. Its architectural features include two attached end towers, a distinctive element that sets it apart from others in the area. Notably, it will not feature a Gold-leafed Angel Moroni Statue, presenting a unique approach to its overall design.

Inside, the Heber Valley Utah Temple will offer four instruction rooms, four sealing rooms, and a singular baptistry, enhancing its capacity to serve the needs of those who cherish its offerings. At a total of 87,626 square feet, it meets the criteria for being categorized as a large Temple, which requires a footprint exceeding 80,000 square feet.

Standing at a height of 210 feet and sitting at an elevation of 6,711 feet, this Temple will truly integrate into the breathtaking landscape of Heber Valley—a picturesque rural mountain valley in Wasatch County, located just over 40 miles from Salt Lake City.

A rendering of the Heber Valley Utah Temple was released to the public on September 19, 2022, giving a glimpse into the future of this remarkable addition. Once completed, it will mark the 28th Temple in Utah, further enriching the spiritual resources available in the state.

With its beautiful surroundings and thoughtful design, the Heber Valley Utah Temple is poised to become a significant part of the landscape, serving both the needs of those in Heber Valley and beyond. As construction continues, anticipation grows for what this new site will bring to the area.
