The Heber Valley Utah Temple: A New Chapter in Accessibility

The Heber Valley Utah Temple is making significant strides with the commencement of dewatering processes. This involves drilling 20 wells to manage water flow, ensuring that water is efficiently pumped into large tanks and then redirected to Lake Creek, located just south of the site. Notably, this dewatering is designed to have no environmental impact on the surrounding area.

After a brief construction injunction, work on the Heber Valley Utah Temple is back in full swing. The ambitious project was first announced on October 3, 2021, during the General Conference. The official groundbreaking and site dedication took place on October 8, 2022, led by the Prophet Russell M. Nelson.

Set on an expansive 18.17-acre lot, the architectural features of the Heber Valley Utah Temple have garnered much anticipation. It will showcase two elegantly designed end towers, and interestingly, it will not feature a Gold-leafed Angel Moroni Statue. Inside, the Temple will include four instruction rooms, four sealing rooms, and a single baptistry, designed to ensure a smooth and fulfilling experience.

This Temple will be classified as a large one within The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, with a total area of 87,626 square feet, exceeding the 80,000 square foot threshold. Its impressive height will reach 210 feet, standing proud against the stunning backdrop of the Heber Valley at an elevation of 6,711 feet once completed.

The rendering, which was released to the public on September 19, 2022, has allowed many to visualize this new addition to the area. The Heber Valley itself is known for its picturesque rural mountain views, located just over 40 miles from Salt Lake City, making it an ideal location for this significant endeavor. Once finished, the Heber Valley Utah Temple will proudly be the 28th Temple in Utah, marking a new chapter for the area and its residents.

Stay tuned for more updates as the Heber Valley Utah Temple continues its journey towards completion!
