On April 7, 2024, during the 194th Annual General Conference, President Russell M. Nelson announced the plans for the Lehi Utah Temple. This new temple will be constructed on a 22.48-acre site located at the intersection of 3950 North and Center Street in Lehi, Utah.
The Lehi Utah Temple will feature a single attached central spire and will not include the traditional gold-leafed statue of the angel Moroni, which is commonly found on many other temples. The total area of the temple will be approximately 85,000 square feet, and it will be situated at an elevation of 4,085 feet.
As of now, there is no ground-breaking date set for the construction of the temple. However, a conceptual rendering of the temple was released to the public on February 24, 2025, providing a visual preview of its design.
Lehi is situated in Utah’s rapidly growing technology region known as Silicon Slopes. This area has become a hub for tech companies and startups, contributing to the state’s economic growth. The Lehi Utah Temple will be the 30th temple announced for Utah, which currently hosts nearly 2.2 million Latter-day Saints—making up roughly two-thirds of the state’s population. The Latter-day Saints in Utah are organized into more than 5,400 congregations.
The city of Lehi has a rich historical background, having been settled by pioneers in 1850. With the construction of the Lehi Utah Temple, the community aims to further strengthen its spiritual and cultural foundations, serving as a beacon of hope and faith for its residents and visitors alike.
