Experience the magic of the holiday season at Temple Square, where twinkling lights and festive cheer come together in a longstanding tradition hosted by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints! This year, the church has outdone itself with what they call Christ Centered displays and a variety of free activities that promise to bring joy and togetherness.

As you stroll through Temple Square, you’ll find more open areas to explore as renovations continue. While the iconic Salt Lake Temple is still under wraps, anticipation is building for the grand reopening celebration planned for April 2027 mark your calendars!

From now until January 1, the dazzling light displays illuminate Temple Square daily from 6 to 8 a.m. and again from 4:30 to 10 p.m. It’s a sight you won’t want to miss! And the festive spirit doesn’t stop there downtown Salt Lake City is aglow with holiday cheer. Don’t forget to check out the stunning Christmas tree at City Creek Center, the whimsical candy windows at Macy’s, the enchanting seasonal display titled The Turning Season at the Eccles Theater, and the fun filled ice rink and Glow installation at Gallivan Center.

But wait, there’s more! You can savor the season with other delightful events around Temple Square

Reserve your spot at The Roof restaurant, perched atop the Joseph Smith Memorial Building, which recently reopened after a stunning remodel on November 14.

Visit the Church History Museum to enjoy live musical performances by local community and school groups, explore Victorian Christmas decor in the Drawing Room, and check out the unique Giving Machines in the lobby. The museum welcomes visitors from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Mondays, Fridays, and Saturdays, and extends its hours to 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday.

Be captivated by the beautiful Christmas artwork on display at the Conference Center throughout January. Open Monday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., it’s the perfect backdrop for some holiday photo opportunities!

Don’t miss the live performances of “Music and the Spoken Word every Sunday at 9:30 a.m. in the Conference Center. A special performance featuring Block and Arcelus on December 14 is sure to be a highlight. Best of all? Admission is free no tickets required!

Finally, get swept away by the theatrical experience “Savior of the World, running every day except Sundays and Mondays until December 27. Shows are at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. in the Little Theater. Tickets are already distributed, but be sure to arrive early for the standby line in the Plaza lobby.

And if you fancy some live holiday tunes, concerts and performances are happening throughout Temple Square, showcasing the talents of school, missionary, and community choirs, along with amazing string, flute, guitar, and bell ensembles.
