LDS Temple News Presents the Lindon Utah Temple
The announcement of the Lindon Utah Temple came on October 4, 2020 by the Prophet Russell M. Nelson. Later, the rendering was released to the public on April 26, 2021.
Groundbreaking and Construction Details
Groundbreaking and site dedication for the Lindon Utah Temple was on April 23, 2022 by Elder Kevin W. Pearson. During the event, he stated, “May the construction of Thy holy house here in Lindon continue to bless this area with peace, love and unity.”
Location and Geography
The Lindon Utah Temple is located at 850 E Center Street Lindon, Utah 84042. It is built at an elevation of 4,817 feet, supporting the small city of Lindon of 11,000 people, which is just south of Pleasant Grove Utah and North of Orem Utah.
Design and Exterior Elements
The Lindon Utah Temple is built on 11.87 acres. The exterior is granite, featuring two attached end spires with no gold-leafed Angel Moroni Statue. Around the Temple, the parking lot will surround the Temple in a circular fashion with black ornamental fencing. At the North East corner, there is a dedicated space where bridal parties can take photographs of the Temple in the background.
Interior Features and Leadership
Inside, the Lindon Utah Temple total floor area is 87,005 square feet. It contains four instruction rooms, with each room seating 50 people, four sealing rooms, and two baptistries. The Temple decor on the stained glass and throughout the Temple will reflect the area agrarian roots, including the Linden Tree Flower.
Dedication and Open House Schedule
The Lindon Utah Temple open house is from March 12, 2026 through April 11, 2026, and the Temple will be dedicated on May 3, 2026. This holy edifice will be Utah 25th dedicated temple built in the beautiful State of Utah and the seventh Temple built in Utah County. The first President and Matron of the Temple are Lynn McKinlay Brätt and Elizabeth Ann Prestwich Brätt.
