Things are really buzzing at the Montpelier Idaho Temple! With the parking lot freshly striped and the exterior lighting shining bright, the temple is quickly becoming a beautiful addition to our community. There’s so much happening inside and out: landscaping is in full swing, and interior finishes are making great progress too! Construction is expected to wrap up in early to mid-2026, and we can’t wait for the open house and dedication celebrations that will follow!

Announced on May 20, 2022, the Montpelier Idaho Temple will be the eighth temple built in Idaho. It’s located at Washington St, Montpelier, ID 83254, and features a lovely central tower that will be an eye-catching highlight of the building. Spanning 27,000 square feet, it will have two instruction rooms, two sealing rooms, and a baptistry—a wonderful space for worship and community events!

Situated at an elevation of 5,969 feet and covering 2.6 acres of scenic land, this temple will fit right into Idaho’s stunning surroundings. The groundbreaking ceremony on June 17, 2023, led by Elder Ryan K. Olsen, was truly special. He offered heartfelt blessings for everyone involved, creating a wonderful spirit of unity and hope for the future.

Montpelier itself is such a charming place, with a history dating back to the early pioneers in 1855 and a friendly population of over 2,500. When the official rendering of the temple was revealed on April 24, 2023, the community was filled with excitement! The design really captures the essence of the area, and we can’t help but feel proud to see this beautiful structure coming to life.
