The Montpelier Idaho Temple is making remarkable strides! With a freshly striped parking lot and fully operational exterior lighting, it’s clear that this significant addition is becoming a proud landmark for our community. The landscaping is progressing beautifully, and interior finishes are advancing rapidly. We are confident that construction will be completed by early to mid-2026, and we eagerly anticipate the open house and dedication ceremonies that will follow.
Announced on May 20, 2022, the Montpelier Idaho Temple will be the eighth temple constructed in Idaho, proudly located at Washington St, Montpelier, ID 83254. Featuring an impressive central tower, this temple will encompass 27,000 square feet and will include two instruction rooms, two sealing rooms, and a baptistry—creating a vital center for worship and community connection.
Perched at an elevation of 5,969 feet and situated on 2.6 acres of beautiful land, the temple is set to enhance Idaho’s stunning landscape. The groundbreaking ceremony on June 17, 2023, led by Elder Ryan K. Olsen, was a momentous occasion. His blessings for those involved in this project highlight our commitment to fostering understanding and peace.
Montpelier itself is a vibrant community, with roots tracing back to the early pioneers of 1855 and a population of over 2,500. The official rendering of the temple, unveiled on April 24, 2023, received an enthusiastic response, showcasing a design that truly reflects the spirit of the area and our shared values.
