Welcome to the Phoenix Arizona Temple, an absolutely stunning landmark that’s the 144th dedicated temple in operation! You can find it at 5220 W Pinnacle Peak Rd, in the beautiful city of Phoenix.
The story of this temple is truly inspiring. It all began on May 24, 2008, when the beloved Prophet Thomas S. Monson announced that a fifth temple would be built in Arizona. He beautifully shared that, “The blessings of the temple are eternal,” inviting everyone to feel God’s love and discover their own divine potential.
Fast forward to June 4, 2011 — that marked the official groundbreaking and site dedication, led by Apostle Ronald A. Rasband. After years of hard work and dedication, the temple opened its doors for a public open house from October 10 to November 1, 2014. It was such an exciting time for the community to come in and see all the beautiful details!
The dedication took place on November 16, 2014, once again officiated by Prophet Thomas S. Monson, which made it a cherished day for many. With a spacious 64,870 square feet and a majestic height of 90 feet, the temple sits on 5.19 lovely acres. Its exterior is tastefully finished with precast integral colored concrete panels and features a stunning gold-leafed Angel Moroni statue that was placed on May 15, 2013.
Step inside, and you’ll feel the peaceful atmosphere around you. The temple has two instruction rooms, four sealing rooms, and a charming baptistry — perfect spaces for reflection and connection. There’s also a lovely chapel just nearby in the shared parking lot, making it easy for everyone to come together for temple work and community events.
The Phoenix Arizona Temple is more than just a beautiful building; it’s a warm and inviting place where all are welcome to explore their faith and feel connected to something greater. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, you’re sure to leave with a heart full of peace and inspiration!
