Excitement is building for the upcoming public open house for the Willamette Valley Oregon Temple, scheduled for April 23, 2026, leading up to the dedication on June 7, 2026. This addition to the region has been highly anticipated since the announcement by President Russell M. Nelson on April 4, 2021, marking a significant milestone for members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Oregon is home to approximately 154,000 members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, with a rich history in the area dating back to 1887 when early settlers began to arrive. Today, there are over 300 congregations throughout the state, reflecting a vibrant and engaged congregation.
The Willamette Valley Oregon Temple is located at 3701 Corporate Way in Springfield, Oregon. Spanning an impressive 10.5 acres, this impressive addition boasts an architectural design featuring a single attached central spire, rising 120 feet into the sky. With a total floor area of 30,000 square feet, the layout includes two instruction rooms, two sealing rooms, and a baptistry, all designed to facilitate the significant aspects of the faith.
Construction of this 120-foot edifice was ceremonially marked by groundbreaking activities led by Elder Valeri V. Cordón on October 29, 2022. The elevation of the Willamette Valley Oregon Temple is 429 feet, providing a picturesque vantage point in the surrounding area.
