Stunning Yorba Linda California Temple Must See

LDS Temple News Presents Yorba Linda California Temple a House of the Lord

Nestled in the scenic landscape of Yorba Linda, California, the Yorba Linda California Temple is a captivating addition to the region. This significant site is located at 17130 Bastanchury Road and is set to open for a much-anticipated public open house from April 30, 2026, through May 23, 2026.

A Journey from Announcement to Dedication

The creation of the Yorba Linda California Temple was officially announced on April 4, 2021, capturing the attention of many. The journey from announcement to fruition took a tangible step forward with the groundbreaking and site dedication on June 18, 2022, conducted by Elder Mark A. Bragg. He expressed, “It is an honor to be here on this beautiful California summer day to dedicate this site for the construction of a sacred temple.”

As plans developed, the dedication ceremony is scheduled to take place on June 7, 2026. This Temple is built on an expansive 5.46 acres and encompasses 30,872 square feet, standing proudly at 70 feet high and 361 feet above sea level.

Architectural Elegance

The exterior of the Yorba Linda California Temple is a striking blend of white blanco macael marble, enhanced with accents of pink and gray rosa porrino granite. Architectural features include a single attached end tower, but it notably does not feature the gold-leafed angel moroni statue familiar on other Temples.

Internally, the Temple showcases a wealth of exquisite materials. The interior boasts Botticino Classico Extra marble, complemented by various other stones including BS Beige marble and Costa Esmeralda granite. Handcrafted details can be found throughout, with plain-sliced sapele veneer and select millwork crafted from painted poplar and maple.

Artistic Touches

The design incorporates decorative paint inspired by the local landscape and historic Spanish Mission buildings, including elegant 24-karat gold leaf accents in selected areas. Light fixtures are a blend of crystal, gold-colored metal, and stainless steel, illuminating the space with a sense of peaceful elegance. Notably, the bride’s room features exquisite Murano glass fixtures.

Art glass panels thoughtfully integrate palm elements and rondels that draw inspiration from the region’s rich architecture, with vibrant hues of green, blue, soft white, orange, and yellow. These artistic touches are further complemented by intriguing original artwork celebrating sacred themes and the natural beauty of Southern California.

Functional Spaces

This Temple is designed to serve a wide range of needs. It includes two instruction rooms, two sealing rooms, and a baptistry, making it a well-appointed space for its intended purposes. Notably, the baptismal font features bronze railings with a satin brushed finish and clear tempered glass embellishments.

The ceilings are equally impressive, showcasing decorative elements including millwork box beams and acoustically treated tiles, all designed to create a serene atmosphere.

In summary, the Yorba Linda California Temple represents both architectural beauty and a testament to the community’s values and aspirations. As the opening dates approach, anticipation builds for this remarkable addition to California’s cultural fabric.
