Exploring the Gilbert Arizona Temple: A Treasured Addition to the Valley

Nestled in Gilbert, Arizona, the Gilbert Arizona Temple stands as the 142nd dedicated Temple in operation within its faith. Located at 3301 S Greenfield Rd, Gilbert, Arizona 85297, this impressive site has garnered attention since its announcement on April 26, 2008.

The groundbreaking ceremony took place on November 13, 2010, led by Elder Claudio R.M. Costa. This marked the beginning of a journey that would culminate in a beautiful and significant space for reflection and learning.

The public open house, held from January 18th through February 15th, 2014, saw a remarkable turnout, with 407,020 individuals experiencing the Temple prior to its dedication. On March 2, 2014, the powerful dedicatory prayer was offered by Prophet Thomas S. Monson, with the reading conducted by Henry B. Eyring.

Spanning 15.38 acres, the Temple features 85,326 square feet of space that encompasses a range of rooms designed for various purposes. Inside, you will find three instruction rooms, seven sealing rooms, and a baptistry, catering to the needs of those who visit.

The exterior showcases a modern approach with precast concrete panels, elegantly combining form and function. One of its most striking architectural features is the single attached central spire, which is crowned by a stunning Gold-leafed Angel Moroni statue that was installed on May 15, 2012. This addition elevates the edifice to a height of 195 feet, sitting majestically at an elevation of 1,269 feet.
