The Iloilo Philippines Temple: A Vision of Faith and Service

On April 2, 2023, President Russell M. Nelson of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints shared exciting news about the upcoming Iloilo Philippines Temple. This announcement marked a significant milestone for the followers of the faith in this vibrant region.

A Strategic Location

Set to occupy a 7.7-acre site at Circumferential Road 1 in Barangay Tacas, Jaro District of Iloilo City, the Iloilo Philippines Temple promises to become an integral part of the local area. Alongside the Temple, a new meetinghouse will share the same parking lot, further fostering a spirit of connection among residents and the faithful.

Design Features

The design of the Iloilo Philippines Temple is notable for its single attached central spire, a departure from the common gold-leafed Angel Moroni found on many other Temples. Covering a substantial area of 18,850 square feet, this one-story Temple will include features such as patron housing and a distribution center, ensuring that it serves a variety of needs for the local members and residents.

The exterior will be clad in granite, adding an elegant touch, while the Temple will sit at an elevation of 42 feet, providing a prominent presence in the area.

Current Status and Future Outlook

While the Iloilo Philippines Temple is currently in the planning stages, both the design and location have been officially confirmed. The public was treated to a rendering of the Temple on February 23, 2026, igniting anticipation among those who look forward to its completion. As of now, an official construction date has yet to be announced.

As this exciting endeavor comes to life, it represents not only a place of faith but also an opportunity for many individuals and families to learn and grow together. Stay tuned for further updates as the Iloilo Philippines Temple progresses towards its anticipated opening.
