Announced by Prophet Russell M. Nelson on October 4, 2020, the Lindon Utah Temple stands as a testament to devotion and faithfulness. Situated at 850 E Center Street, Lindon, Utah, this impressive facility covers 11.87 acres and is designed with granite exteriors, inviting a sense of serenity and beauty in its surroundings.
Key Dates and Construction Milestones
The journey to the Lindon Utah Temple began with the groundbreaking and site dedication on April 23, 2022, presided over by Elder Kevin W. Pearson. He expressed hope that “the construction of Thy holy house here in Lindon continue to bless this community with peace, love and unity.” Following the construction timeline, an anticipated open house will take place from March 12, 2026, to April 11, 2026, culminating with the dedication on May 3, 2026.
Architectural Highlights
Design and Features
The architectural design features two attached end spires, enhancing its graceful profile. Notably, there is no gold-leafed Angel Moroni Statue on this Temple. Inside, the Temple boasts a total floor area of 87,005 square feet. Four instruction rooms, each seating 50 people, complement four sealing rooms and two baptistries, creating diverse opportunities for those who wish to engage with the Temple’s offerings.
Decor and Landscape
The decor throughout the Lindon Utah Temple is influenced by the area’s agricultural roots, prominently featuring the Linden Tree Flower in the stained glass. A designated area at the northeast corner allows bridal parties to take photographs with the Temple serving as a picturesque backdrop. Surrounding the Temple, a circular parking lot encircled by black ornamental fencing offers convenient access.
Serving the Local Area
This Temple is set to serve the vibrant small city of Lindon, which has a population of approximately 11,000 residents, nestled between Pleasant Grove and Orem. As the seventh Temple in Utah County and the 25th dedicated Temple in Utah, it plays a critical role in meeting the spiritual needs of the local populace.

The first President and Matron of the Lindon Utah Temple are Lynn McKinlay Brätt and Elizabeth Ann Prestwich Brätt, who will guide operations and foster a spirit of togetherness in the Temple’s new environment.
