Unveiling Secrets: What Makes the Lindon Utah Temple Special?

Background and Announcement

The announcement for the Lindon Utah Temple came on October 4, 2020 by the Prophet Russell M. Nelson. The rendering was released to the public on April 26, 2021. Groundbreaking and site dedication took place on April 23, 2022 by Elder Kevin W. Pearson, who stated, “May the construction of Thy holy house here in Lindon continue to bless this local area with peace, love and unity.”

The Lindon Utah Temple will be dedicated on May 3, 2026, following an open house scheduled from March 12, 2026 through April 11, 2026. This sacred edifice is built on 11.87 acres at an elevation of 4,817 feet, located at 850 E Center Street Lindon, Utah 84042.

Architecture and Exterior Features

The exterior of the Lindon Utah Temple is granite. Its architectural features include two attached end spires with no gold-leafed Angel Moroni Statue. The total floor area reaches 87,005 square feet. Around the Temple the parking lot will surround the Temple in a circular fashion with black ornamental fencing.

Interior Layout and Grounds

Inside, the Temple contains four instruction rooms, with each room seating 50 people, alongside four sealing rooms and two baptistries. The Temple decor on the stained glass and throughout the Temple will have the areas Agrarian roots including the Linden Tree Flower. At the north east corner there is a photo space for bridal parties can take photographs of the Temple in the background.

Regional Placement

The Lindon Utah Temple will help support the small city of Lindon of 11,000 people which is just south of Pleasant Grove Utah and North of Orem Utah. It stands as the twenty-fifth dedicated temple built in the beautiful State of Utah and the seventh Temple built in Utah County.

The first President and Matron of the Temple is Lynn McKinlay Brätt and Elizabeth Ann Prestwich Brätt.
