Lindon Utah Temple dedication, open house dates announced
The Lindon Utah Temple is a remarkable addition to the landscape of Lindon, Utah, located at 850 E Center Street. It covers an expansive 11.87 acres and boasts a total floor area of 87,005 square feet. This beautiful Temple stands at an elevation of 4,817 feet, enhancing its presence in the area.
A Special Announcement
The announcement for the Lindon Utah Temple was made on October 4, 2020, by Prophet Russell M. Nelson. Following this momentous event, the groundbreaking and site dedication took place on April 23, 2022. Elder Kevin W. Pearson expressed a heartfelt wish during the proceedings, stating, “May the construction of Thy holy house here in Lindon continue to bless this community with peace, love and unity.”
A Closer Look at Features
One of the notable architectural features of the Lindon Utah Temple is its exterior, constructed from granite. It is unique for its two attached end spires and the absence of a gold-leafed Angel Moroni Statue. Inside, the Temple is equipped with four instruction rooms, each seating 50 individuals, four sealing rooms, and two baptistries.
Unique Decor
The decor within the Temple includes stained glass that reflects the agrarian roots of the area, particularly featuring designs inspired by the Linden Tree Flower.
Amenities
At the northeast corner, there is a beautifully designed area where bridal parties can take photographs with the Temple in the background. Additionally, a parking lot surrounds the Temple in a circular fashion, complemented by black ornamental fencing.
Upcoming Events
The Lindon Utah Temple is set to open its doors for an open house from March 12, 2026, through April 11, 2026. Following the open house, a dedication ceremony will be held on May 3, 2026.
Serving the Local Area
This Temple will serve the small city of Lindon, which has a population of around 11,000, nestled between Pleasant Grove and Orem. It marks the 25th dedicated Temple in Utah, making it the seventh in Utah County. The first President and Matron of the Temple will be Lynn McKinlay Brätt and Elizabeth Ann Prestwich Brätt, a role significant for guiding this beautiful establishment.
