The official announcement for the Lindon Utah Temple came on October 4, 2020 by the Prophet Russell M. Nelson. Following this exciting news, the digital rendering was released to the public on April 26, 2021, giving everyone a first look at the anticipated holy edifice. Groundbreaking and site dedication took place on April 23, 2022, led by Elder Kevin W. Pearson. During the groundbreaking proceedings, Elder Kevin W. Pearson stated, “May the construction of Thy holy house here in Lindon continue to bless this local area with peace, love and unity.” This momentous occasion marked the beginning of an era of construction for the small city of Lindon of 11,000 people, which is situated just south of Pleasant Grove Utah and north of Orem Utah. The physical property is located at 850 E Center Street Lindon, Utah 84042.

Architectural Design and Specifications

The Lindon Utah Temple is built on an expansive 11.87 acres of land, rising majestically at an elevation of 4,817 feet. The magnificent exterior is constructed of durable granite, providing a timeless and solid appearance. Distinctive architectural features define its silhouette, including two attached end spires with no gold-leafed Angel Moroni Statue.

Interior Layout and Capacity

Inside, the building is meticulously designed to accommodate sacred interior purposes. The total floor area spans 87,005 square feet. The interior layout features four instruction rooms, with each room seating 50 people, alongside four sealing rooms and two baptistries. Furthermore, the interior decor on the stained glass and throughout the Temple incorporates the area’s agrarian roots, including the Linden Tree Flower, celebrating local history and agricultural heritage.

Exterior Features and Grounds

Surrounding the grounds, the parking lot is designed to surround the Temple in a circular fashion, bordered by elegant black ornamental fencing. Additionally, at the north east corner, there is a designated area specifically arranged where bridal parties can take photographs of the Temple in the background.

Open House and Dedication Timeline

The public open house for the Lindon Utah Temple is scheduled to run from March 12, 2026 through April 11, 2026. Following the conclusion of the public open house, the Lindon Utah Temple will be formally dedicated on May 3, 2026.
