Development Timeline

The announcement regarding the construction of the Lindon Utah Temple was made on October 4, 2020, by Prophet Russell M. Nelson. The groundbreaking and site dedication occurred on April 23, 2022, with Elder Kevin W. Pearson expressing hopes for the ongoing construction to bless the local area with peace, love, and unity. A rendering of the Temple was released to the public on April 26, 2021. The long-anticipated dedication is scheduled for May 3, 2026.

Open House Details

An open house offering the opportunity to see the Temple will take place from March 12, 2026, through April 11, 2026. This is a unique chance for individuals to explore the Temple’s exquisite design and features.

Architectural Highlights

The exterior of the Lindon Utah Temple is finished in stunning granite and features two attached end spires. Notably, there is no gold-leafed Angel Moroni Statue atop the Temple. The architectural design incorporates regional influences, evident in the decor with stained glass that reflects the agrarian roots of the area, including the Linden Tree Flower.

Interior Features

Inside, the Lindon Utah Temple offers four instruction rooms, each accommodating up to 50 people, alongside four sealing rooms and two baptistries. The total floor area measures an impressive 87,005 square feet, making it a remarkable site for people to participate in various activities.

Outdoor Amenities

The design of the Temple includes a special area at the northeast corner, perfect for bridal parties looking to capture memorable photographs against the beautiful backdrop of the Temple. Surrounding the Temple, a circular parking lot features black ornamental fencing, enhancing the overall aesthetic.

Serving the Local Area

The Lindon Utah Temple will be Utah’s 25th dedicated Temple and the seventh Temple in Utah County. This Temple is especially significant for the small city of Lindon, which has a population of approximately 11,000. The first President and Matron of the Temple, Lynn McKinlay Brätt and Elizabeth Ann Prestwich Brätt, will guide its functioning, helping to enrich the spiritual life in the region.
