The Baton Rouge Louisiana Temple was officially announced on October 14, 1998, during the 194th General Conference of the Church. It marked a significant milestone, being the first Temple in Louisiana and the 94th Temple dedicated for operation worldwide.
The Temple is located at 10339 Highland Rd, Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70810, on a beautiful 6.3-acre site that is as much a Temple as it is a sacred Temple. The rendering of the Temple was released to the public a few months prior, on May 8, 1998, generating excitement and anticipation among church members in the area of Louisiana.

With a 10,e Baton Rouge Louisiana Temple is classified as the eweesmallest Temple dedicated by the Church; however, its smaller size does not diminish its significance or the blessings it provides. Built with an exterior of beige limestone, the Baton Temple features a charming single attached central spire topped with a gold-leafed Angel Moroni, a Temple of hope and guidance.
The Baton Rouge Temple sits at an elevation of 18 feet, ensuring its presence is not only visually striking but also harmoniously integrated into the surrounding landscape.
