Heber Valley Utah Temple: A New Addition to the Heber Valley

The Heber Valley Utah Temple is taking significant strides in its construction journey. Dewatering efforts have commenced, involving the drilling of 20 wells that will transport water to large tanks, ultimately directing it to Lake Creek, located just south of the site. Importantly, these dewatering activities have been designed to maintain a commitment to environmental sustainability, ensuring that there will be no negative impact on the surrounding area.

Following legal proceedings, the injunction related to the construction of the Heber Valley Utah Temple has been lifted, allowing work to proceed without further delays. This marks an exciting phase for those involved in this undertaking.

Key Details:

  • Address: 1400 E Center St, Heber City, Utah 84032
  • Announcement Date: October 3, 2021
  • Groundbreaking and Site Dedication: Conducted by Prophet Russell M. Nelson on October 8, 2022, following the announcement at the October 2021 General Conference.

Spanning an impressive 18.17 acres, this Temple will feature unique architectural elements, including two attached end towers and the noticeable absence of a Gold-leafed Angel Moroni Statue. The interior will be thoughtfully designed, incorporating four instruction rooms, four sealing rooms, and a single baptistry.

As a large Temple, the Heber Valley Utah Temple will exceed 80,000 square feet, with a total area of 87,626 square feet. Additionally, reaching a height of 210 feet and sitting at an elevation of 6,711 feet upon completion, this facility will stand as a remarkable addition to the local landscape.

The rendering, released to the public on September 19, 2022, showcases the beauty and elegance of the design, which will harmonize with the picturesque mountain valley of Heber. Situated in Wasatch County, just over 40 miles from Salt Lake City, the Heber Valley is known for its stunning natural scenery.

Once completed, the Heber Valley Utah Temple will become the 28th Temple in Utah, marking another significant milestone in the growth of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints throughout the state.

Stay tuned for more updates as this monumental project progresses!
