The Modesto California Temple is set to become an inspiring landmark in the Golden State, proudly standing as the 10th temple in California. Located in the vibrant Central Valley, Modesto’s rich agricultural history—captured in its name, which means “modest” in Spanish—adds an extraordinary layer to its significance.

Construction is making remarkable strides! The exterior cladding is nearing completion, landscaping is flourishing with the arrival of numerous trees, and the perimeter masonry wall is almost finished. Inside, millwork is actively taking shape, all leading to an impressive projected completion date in mid- to late 2026. The open house and dedication ceremony will follow closely, inviting the community to engage with this monumental spiritual center.

With captivating architectural features, the Modesto California Temple includes a graceful single attached central tower. It will provide two instruction rooms, two sealing rooms, and a baptistry, addressing the diverse needs of its visitors. Standing proudly at 81 feet, this temple symbolizes hope and connection for the 755,000 members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in California, offering a significant spiritual retreat within their reach.

The groundbreaking ceremony on October 7, 2023, was a pivotal moment, with Elder Gary B. Sabin delivering the dedicatory prayer. The temple will share its parking lot with the adjacent meetinghouse at 4300 Dale Road, enhancing convenience for congregants.

This architectural gem is being constructed on 17.63 acres, encompassing an expansive 30,000 square feet of sacred space. The official rendering, unveiled on December 19, 2022, has already ignited excitement for the future.

The Modesto California Temple is not just a building; it is a beacon of faith, unity, and service for the community. It promises to enrich lives and create an environment where spiritual growth and connection can thrive. This project is a powerful reality that will soon transform the landscape and the lives it serves!
