The Montpelier Idaho Temple, located at Washington St, Montpelier, ID 83254, is poised to become a significant addition to the area’s spiritual landscape. Announced on April 3, 2022, by Prophet Russell M. Nelson, the announcement sparked excitement among local residents and members of the faith.
Groundbreaking and Site Dedication
On June 17, 2023, Elder Ryan K. Olsen conducted the groundbreaking and site dedication. He expressed a heartfelt wish during the ceremony, stating, “We ask a special blessing on those who have gathered this day that they and their families will be given understanding and peace with confidence in Thy plan.”
Architectural Features
The Montpelier Idaho Temple is designed to occupy a lot of 2.6 acres and spans 27,000 square feet. Architectural features include a single attached central tower, distinguishing it from other nearby Temples. Notably, it will not have a gold-leafed Angel Moroni Statue, setting it apart in design. Inside, the Temple will include two instruction rooms, two sealing rooms, and a baptistry.
