The Montpelier Idaho Temple is truly taking shape, and there’s so much to be excited about! As construction progresses, you’ll notice freshly striped parking, gleaming exterior lighting, and vibrant landscaping—all signs of the beautiful temple that’s rising in our community. With work well underway, the temple is projected to be completed by early to mid-2026, followed by a highly anticipated open house and dedication that will surely bring everyone together to celebrate.

This magnificent temple was announced on May 20, 2022, making it the eighth temple to grace the beautiful state of Idaho. Situated at Washington St, Montpelier, ID 83254, it features a stunning central tower, elegant design elements, and a spacious interior with two instruction rooms, two sealing rooms, and a baptistry. Encompassing 27,000 square feet, this sacred space is destined to become a cherished sanctuary for both worship and community events.

Resting at an elevation of 5,969 feet and spread over a generous 2.6 acres, the temple is poised against the picturesque backdrop of Idaho’s stunning landscapes. The groundbreaking ceremony on June 17, 2023, led by Elder Ryan K. Olsen, was a moment filled with hope and blessings for all involved in this project, as he called upon divine peace and understanding for those gathered.

Montpelier itself is steeped in history, with roots tracing back to the early pioneers of 1855, and today it boasts a vibrant population of over 2,500 residents eager to welcome this new spiritual landmark. The excitement continued to build when the official rendering of the Montpelier Idaho Temple was revealed on April 24, 2023, showcasing a design that reflects both beauty and reverence.
