The Montpelier Idaho Temple is making great progress. The parking lot is striped, the exterior lighting is operational, and both landscaping and interior finishing are well underway. Construction is expected to be completed by early to mid-2026, with an open house and dedication to follow.
Announced on May 20, 2022, this will be the eighth temple in Idaho, located at Washington St, Montpelier, ID 83254. It features a central tower and covers 27,000 square feet, including two instruction rooms, two sealing rooms, and a baptistry.
The temple is built at an elevation of 5,969 feet on 2.6 acres of land. The groundbreaking took place on June 17, 2023, led by Elder Ryan K. Olsen, who offered blessings for the gathering. With a population over 2,500, Montpelier has a rich history dating back to 1855. The official rendering was released on April 24, 2023.
