The Montpelier Idaho Temple is progressing steadily. The parking lot is striped, exterior lighting is operational, and landscaping and interior work are well underway. Construction is expected to be completed in early to mid-2026, with an open house and dedication scheduled a few months after.
Announced on May 20, 2022, this will be the eighth temple in Idaho, located at Washington St, Montpelier, ID 83254. The temple features a central tower and will include two instruction rooms, two sealing rooms, and a baptistry, totaling 27,000 square feet.
Built at an elevation of 5,969 feet on 2.6 acres, the temple is designed to fit the surrounding landscape. The groundbreaking ceremony took place on June 17, 2023, and was led by Elder Ryan K. Olsen, who offered blessings for the project.
Montpelier has a population of over 2,500 and a history that dates back to 1855. The official rendering of the temple was unveiled on April 24, 2023, showcasing a design that reflects the area’s spirit.
