The Mesa Arizona Temple is a beautiful landmark and holds a special place in the community as the 7th temple dedicated and currently in operation! You can find it at 101 S. LeSueur in Mesa, Arizona, 85204.
This lovely temple was announced way back on October 9, 1919, and after years of anticipation, it had a public open house from October 16th to November 20th, 2021, hosted by the Prophet Dallin H. Oaks. Spread across a spacious 20 acres, the temple’s exterior is finished with concrete reinforced by 130 tons of steel, giving it a stunning glazed eggshell look.
Architecturally, it’s just as charming with a flat roof adorned by sculpted friezes. Inside, visitors can explore four instruction rooms, six sealing rooms, and a baptistry, all within its impressive 75,000 square feet. The temple stands at a height of 53 feet and is located at an elevation of 1,240 feet.
Did you know that this was the very first temple built in Arizona? It used to be called the Arizona Temple and originally featured live acting but has since transitioned to more modern displays. The friezes that grace the top corners of the temple beautifully symbolize Isaiah’s promise for the last days.
It’s a truly remarkable place filled with history and significance!
