The public open house, held from August 6 to September 21, 1996, was a significant event, attracting over 679,217 individuals who toured the Temple. The subsequent dedication occurred over a week, from October 13 to October 19, 1996, again presided over by Gordon B. Hinckley.
Architectural Features
The Mount Timpanogos Utah Temple covers 16.7 acres and spans an impressive 107,240 square feet. Its exterior features sierra white granite, art glass windows, and striking bronze doors. One of its most notable architectural elements is the single attached end spire topped with a gold-leafed Angel Moroni Statue. This statue was installed on July 17, 1995, in a ceremony attended by approximately 20,000 people.
