Welcome to the Oklahoma City Oklahoma Temple, a true gem in the heart of Yukon, Oklahoma! This beautiful temple is the 95th in operation, and it’s a beloved place for many, offering peace and inspiration to those who visit. As you approach, you’ll be greeted by its striking beige limestone exterior and the impressive spire topped with a gleaming gold-leafed Angel Moroni statue—it’s a sight you won’t soon forget!

The temple’s journey began on March 14, 1999, when the announcement was made, and just a few months later, on July 3, Elder Rex D. Pinegar held the groundbreaking ceremony, paving the way for this wonderful sanctuary. Fast forward to July 8-22, 2000, when the doors opened for the very first public open house. It was a joyous occasion as the community came together to explore this beautiful space.

On July 30, 2000, the temple was officially dedicated by the esteemed Apostle James E. Faust, welcoming about 9,000 members into its warm embrace. Since then, the Oklahoma City Oklahoma Temple has become a retreat for people not only from Oklahoma but also from nearby states like Kansas, Arkansas, and Missouri, creating a nurturing environment for all who seek it.

In 2019, the temple underwent a much-needed makeover! After being closed for renovations from October 15, 2017, to May 19, 2019, it reopened with another exciting public open house from April 24 to May 1, leading up to its rededication by Apostle Henry B. Eyring. It was like giving an old friend a fresh coat of paint and new life!

Step inside, and you’ll be welcomed by the elegance of Italian marble finishes, creating a serene atmosphere perfect for reflection and meditation. The temple features two instruction rooms, two sealing rooms, and a baptistry, making it a place for various meaningful activities and gatherings.

Standing tall at 83 feet 9 inches and sitting at an elevation of 1,202 feet, this lovely temple isn’t just the first in Oklahoma; it’s a vital part of the community’s heart and soul. Whether you’re soaking in the stunning architecture or taking a peaceful stroll around the beautifully maintained grounds—complete with a charming fountain—you’ll find that the Oklahoma City Oklahoma Temple is more than just a building; it’s a place where memories are cherished and spirits are uplifted. We can’t wait for you to visit and experience its warmth and beauty firsthand!
