Welcome to the Orem Utah Temple, a remarkable spiritual sanctuary and the 188th temple dedicated for members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints! Nestled at 1451 S 1100 W, Orem, Utah 84058, this stunning temple stands as a beacon of hope and faith in the community.

The journey to this beautiful temple began with its announcement on October 5, 2019, sparking excitement and anticipation in the hearts of many. Just a year later, on September 5, 2020, Elder Craig C. Christensen presided over a heartfelt groundbreaking ceremony. This special event was marked by a sense of community and reverence, with members of the Williamson family—descendants of Norwegian immigrants who originally sold the temple site—being present to witness this monumental moment.

After years of planning and building, the Orem Utah Temple opened its doors to the public for an unforgettable open house from October 27 to December 16, 2023. Visitors had the rare opportunity to explore the temple’s serene spaces, including its four instruction rooms, four sealing rooms, and a beautifully designed baptistry, all spread across an impressive 71,998 square feet.

The architectural design of the temple is nothing short of breathtaking. With its elegant single attached central spire and exterior adorned in exquisite pedras salgadas granite from Portugal, the temple captures the essence of beauty and peace. Unlike many temples, this one does not feature a gold-leafed Angel Moroni, adding to its unique character.

Step inside, and you’re greeted by the luxurious Crema Marfil marble flooring, crafted in Turkey and brought to life with intricate designs that weave together shades of cream, red, green, and brown. The artistic touch of cherry blossom motifs and local wetlands depicted in the taupe-hued art glass windows reflects the natural beauty surrounding Utah Lake.

As you wander through the striking landscapes, you’ll discover a garden filled with Norwegian sunset maples, snow queen hydrangeas, and whirling butterflies that create a tranquil outdoor experience. Each element has been thoughtfully chosen to evoke a sense of peace and connection to the divine.

Elder Christensen beautifully captured the spirit of the Orem Utah Temple, stating it will be “an added refuge of strength in an increasingly uncertain world—a holy place where we learn and live more fully the great plan of happiness made possible by our Savior, Jesus Christ.”

As this temple stands proudly in a region that is rapidly growing, with the Orem area boasting 26 stakes at the time of the announcement, it embodies the hope, faith, and resilience of its community. Come experience the Orem Utah Temple—a place of refuge, reflection, and renewal!
