Payson Utah Temple

Payson Utah Temple an LDS Temple

Welcome to the beautiful Payson Utah Temple, the 146th dedicated temple of its kind! This stunning landmark was announced by Prophet Thomas S. Monson on January 25, 2010, and it quickly became a cherished part of the community. Monson expressed the heart of what temples are all about, saying, “Temples answer those soul-searching questions… They are sanctuaries from the storms of life.” What a meaningful way to look at such a sacred space!

On October 8, 2011, the groundbreaking ceremony brought together over seven thousand people. Despite a gentle rain and chilly temperatures, everyone was filled with excitement as Prophet Dallin H. Oaks shared his vision for the temple’s future impact on the area. He boldly stated, “Standing adjacent to I-15, the major north-south artery in Utah, the Payson Utah Temple will be a dominant and visible influence on the millions who pass by here by day and by night.” Such a vibrant sentiment!

After years of anticipation, the temple opened its doors to the public from April 24 to May 23, 2015, welcoming an incredible 475,542 visitors! It was a joyful time for the community to tour the temple and soak in its beautiful spirit. The dedication finally took place on June 7, 2015, led by Apostle Henry B. Eyring—a truly momentous occasion!

Sitting on 10.63 lovely acres, the Payson Utah Temple dazzles with its cream precast concrete panels and features a striking gold-leafed angel Moroni statue atop its central spire, soaring to an impressive height of 208 feet. Inside, you’ll find three instruction rooms, seven sealing rooms, and a baptistry, all within its spacious 96,630 square feet.

You can find this welcoming sanctuary at 1494 S 930 W, Payson, Utah 84651. The Payson Utah Temple isn’t just a gorgeous building; it’s a warm invitation to discover faith, community, and inner peace. So whether you’re a lifelong member or a curious visitor, come explore its sacred halls and embrace the tranquility it offers!
