Payson Utah Temple Temple News

Welcome to the Payson Utah Temple, a beautiful and inviting place that holds a special spot as the 146th dedicated temple! It was announced back on January 25, 2010, by the beloved Prophet Thomas S. Monson, who said it so well: “Temples answer those soul-searching questions… They are sanctuaries from the storms of life.” How comforting is that?

The excitement started with a groundbreaking ceremony on October 8, 2011, led by Prophet Dallin H. Oaks. Despite the light rain and chilly temperatures of 32 degrees, over seven thousand people gathered to witness this significant event! It’s amazing to think about how many lives the temple now touches every day. Oaks shared a lovely vision, saying that its location near I-15 would allow it to stand as a “dominant and visible influence on the millions who pass by here by day and by night.”

When the public open house took place from April 24 to May 23, 2015, it was a remarkable time for the community. More than 475,542 visitors toured the temple, each having the chance to appreciate its beauty before its dedication on June 7, 2015, by Apostle Henry B. Eyring.

With its striking cream precast concrete panels and a stunning gold-leafed angel Moroni statue atop its single spire, the Payson Utah Temple truly stands out. It covers a lovely 10.63 acres and has a height of 208 feet! Inside, you’ll find three instruction rooms, seven sealing rooms, and a baptistry, all packed into 96,630 square feet of peaceful space.

You can find this gem at 1494 S 930 W, Payson, Utah, 84651. The Payson Utah Temple isn’t just a beautiful building; it’s a warm and welcoming place where spirituality, community, and faith come together. If you haven’t had the chance to visit yet, you’re in for a treat!
