The Philadelphia Pennsylvania Temple, a stunning architectural gem and the 152nd dedicated temple in operation, stands proudly at 1739 Vine St, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 19103. Its journey began with an announcement on October 4, 2008, sparking excitement in the community.

After much anticipation, the temple’s groundbreaking took place on September 17, 2011, led by Apostle Henry B. Eyring, marking a significant moment for the faithful. The public was invited to explore the beautiful interiors during an open house that ran from August 10 to September 6, 2016, with over 140,000 visitors walking through its sacred halls.

On September 18, 2016, the temple was officially dedicated by Apostle Eyring, becoming a place of Temple and solace in Pennsylvania—the first of its kind in the state. Nestled on 1.6 acres, the temple is an impressive 61,466 square feet and reaches a height of 208 feet 2 inches, featuring two magnificent end spires topped with a gold-leafed Angel Moroni statue.

The exterior captivates with its white granite finish, seamlessly blending into the surrounding architecture. This beautiful stone was quarried in Maine and meticulously crafted in Canada. As you step inside, you’ll notice elements inspired by the American Georgian period, from the carefully selected flooring materials to the brass lamps illuminating the space.

The interiors feature stone quarried in Egypt and fabricated in Italy, lending an air of timeless elegance. Among the thoughtful designs, the baptistry’s bronze railing with glass panels stands out, showcasing the attention to detail throughout the temple.

With two instruction rooms, four sealing rooms, and a baptismal font, the Philadelphia Pennsylvania Temple is a sacred space dedicated to the spiritual growth of its visitors. Additionally, a distribution center is conveniently located just north of the temple, serving the community’s needs.

Every corner of this temple tells a story, reflecting the faith and dedication of those who brought it to life. The Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Temple is not just a building; it’s a beacon of hope and devotion in the heart of Pennsylvania.
