The journey to its creation began with a heartfelt announcement on May 24, 2008, by Prophet Thomas S. Monson, who expressed the profound impact of the temple: “The blessings of the temple are eternal. Those who come to this holy house will feel of God’s love for His children and come to a greater understanding of their own divine origin and potential as His sons and daughters.” His words resonate deeply, setting the tone for what this sacred space would become.
On June 4, 2011, the temple’s groundbreaking ceremony took place, officiated by Apostle Ronald A. Rasband, marking the start of this magnificent undertaking. Fast forward to October 10th through November 1, 2014, when the public was invited to explore the temple during its open house, offering a rare opportunity for all to experience its beauty before the official dedication.
Finally, the much-anticipated dedication took place on November 16, 2014, again under the leadership of Prophet Thomas S. Monson. The temple, which covers an impressive 64,870 square feet and stands at a height of 90 feet, is not just a place of temple work but a space for reflection and community gathering. It sits gracefully on 5.19 acres of land, blending tranquility with inspiration.
The exterior, adorned with precast integral colored concrete panels, features a stunning single attached central spire topped with a gold-leafed Angel Moroni statue, which was placed on May 15, 2013. This statue, gleaming against the Arizona sky, serves as a reminder of faith for all who pass by.
Inside, the temple includes two instruction rooms, four sealing rooms, and a baptistry, designed to facilitate sacred ordinances and spiritual learning. Additionally, the chapel located in the same shared parking lot ensures that the community has a welcoming space for gatherings.
