The journey to the Pocatello Idaho Temple began on April 2, 2017, when the announcement was made. Groundbreaking and site dedication ceremonies took place on March 16, 2019, led by Elder Wilford W. Andersen. Following this significant milestone, the public open house ran from September 18th through October 23rd, 2021, drawing a total of 250,721 visitors to explore its serene beauty.
On November 7, 2021, the Temple was officially dedicated by Apostle M. Russell Ballard. His heartfelt words aimed to inspire faithfulness and devotion among visitors. He expressed a desire for the youth and children to feel love and support during their time spent at this notable location.
