The journey of this temple began way back on April 7, 1984, when it was first announced. Fast forward to September 30, 1986, when the ground-breaking ceremony took place, led by none other than Prophet Gordon B. Hinckley—what a memorable day that was!
You’ll definitely want to visit; the temple opened its doors for a public open house from June 15 to July 8, 1989, and an amazing 314,232 guests came to admire its beauty! Just imagine the energy and excitement during that time! The temple was formally dedicated shortly after, from August 19 to 21, 1989, again with the guidance of President Hinckley.
Set on 7.3 charming acres, you will be captivated by its elegant exterior featuring white Vermont marble walls and a beautiful green Vermont slate roof. With six tall spires and four lovely domes, and topped with a shining gold-leafed Angel Moroni, this temple is truly a sight to behold!
Inside, you’ll discover a warm and inviting atmosphere with fourteen sealing rooms, a peaceful baptistry, and four instructional rooms, all within its spacious 80,500 square feet. Standing at a height of 181 feet, it’s easy to spot the temple as you cruise along I-5, with lovely Douglas fir trees surrounding the grounds, adding to the natural beauty.

You’ll find a lovely reflection pool on the east side, ideal for quiet thoughts, and an infinity pool on the west side that’s perfect for enjoying the scenery.
