This was announced by President Russell M. Nelson on April 4, 2021, and it’s a big deal for the 154,000 members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints around here.

Located at 3701 Corporate Way in Springfield, this stunning temple sits on 10.5 acres, featuring a tall central spire that reaches 120 feet into the air. Inside, there are two instructional rooms, two sealing rooms, and a baptistry—all in a spacious 30,000 square feet meant for peace and worship.

The excitement kicked off on October 29, 2022, when Elder Valeri V. Cordón led the groundbreaking ceremony. This marked a fresh start for Latter-day Saints in the area, whose story goes all the way back to settlers arriving in 1887.
