Great news! The Willamette Valley Oregon Temple is getting ready to open its doors with a public open house starting on April 23, 2026, and the dedication is set for June 7, 2026. This was announced by President Russell M. Nelson on April 4, 2021, and it’s a big deal for the 154,000 members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints around here.
Located at 3701 Corporate Way in Springfield, this stunning temple sits on 10.5 acres, featuring a tall central spire that reaches 120 feet into the air. Inside, there are two instructional rooms, two sealing rooms, and a baptistry—all in a spacious 30,000 square feet meant for peace and worship.
The excitement kicked off on October 29, 2022, when Elder Valeri V. Cordón led the groundbreaking ceremony. This marked a fresh start for Latter-day Saints in the area, whose story goes all the way back to settlers arriving in 1887.
With the open house on the way, there’s a buzz of anticipation for everyone, whether they’re part of the church or just interested in checking it out. This temple is going to be more than just a place to worship; it’s a beautiful symbol of our community’s spirit and history. Don’t forget to save the date for this amazing celebration!
