The Ephraim Utah Temple: A New Sacred Space in Central Utah

The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has unveiled exciting news about the upcoming Ephraim Utah Temple, marking another significant milestone in the Church’s expansion efforts across the nation. Located at 400 East 200 North in Ephraim, Utah 84627, this new Temple will serve the faithful in central Utah and surrounding regions.

An Announcement That Sparked Anticipation

The official announcement of the Ephraim Utah Temple came on May 1, 2021, generating enthusiasm throughout the region. Less than a year and a quarter later, Prophet Russell M. Nelson presided over the groundbreaking and site dedication ceremony on August 27, 2022—a momentous occasion that set the construction in motion and signified the beginning of this important religious edifice’s development.

Impressive Architecture and Design

The Ephraim Utah Temple will encompass an impressive 39,000 square feet of dedicated space. Situated at an elevation of 5,567 feet in the beautiful Sanpete Valley, the Temple will blend harmoniously with the surrounding landscape.

The rendering, released to the public on March 4, 2022, showcased the architectural vision for this sacred building. The Temple’s design includes:

  • Four instruction rooms, each capable of seating 30 people
  • Three sealing rooms for eternal marriage ceremonies
  • One baptistry for sacred ordinances

These carefully designed spaces will facilitate the spiritual experiences central to Temple participation.
