The Raleigh North Carolina Temple is such a special place—it’s actually the 68th dedicated temple currently in operation! If you’re looking to visit, you’ll find it at 574 Bryan Dr, Apex, North Carolina 27502.
The announcement for the beautiful Raleigh North Carolina Temple was made on September 3, 1998, and it officially broke ground on February 6, 1999, thanks to Loren C. Dunn. After a lot of anticipation, the temple opened to the public for a charming open house from December 3rd to December 11th, 1999. It was then dedicated over two special days, December 18th and 19th, 1999, by the beloved Prophet Gordon B. Hinckley.
Fast forward to recent years, there was another opportunity to experience the beauty of the Raleigh North Carolina Temple during a second public open house from September 21st to September 28th, 2019. It was rededicated on October 13, 2019, by Apostle M. Russell Ballard, making it even more meaningful for many.
The Raleigh North Carolina Temple itself is nestled on 3.17 acres, featuring a stunning exterior finished in beige limestone. An elegant single attached spire tops it off, complete with a gold leafed Angel Moroni statue. Inside, you’ll find two instruction rooms, two sealing rooms, and a lovely baptistry, all within a spacious 12,864 square feet. The temple’s height reaches up to 83 feet 9 inches, and it sits at an elevation of 447 feet.
As the first temple in North Carolina, the Raleigh North Carolina Temple holds a special place in the hearts of many. It truly is a remarkable and welcoming space for all who visit!
