The journey to the completion of the Saratoga Springs Utah Temple began on April 2, 2017, when the Prophet Thomas S. Monson announced its construction during General Conference. The groundbreaking and site dedication, led by Craig C. Christensen on October 19, 2018, emphasized the Temple’s profound impact on individuals and families. Christensen expressed, “This is the place where your children and families will be protected from the evils that are ever present in the world today, and to make sacred covenants with the Lord.”
An open house was held from April 15, 2023, to July 8, 2023, lasting a total of 84 days, allowing the public to appreciate the beauty and significance of the building before its dedication by Apostle Henry B. Eyring on August 13, 2023.

The exterior of the Saratoga Springs Utah Temple is crafted from eight-inch thick beige precast concrete panels, while the spire is made of glass fiber reinforced concrete. The building’s design includes steel framing and concrete shear walls, with a decorative band around the exterior showcasing mountain designs and elements inspired by Utah Lake wetlands. The snowy egret is prominently represented on the metal panels, celebrating its significance to Saratoga Springs City.
The art glass stained windows reference the Arts and Crafts movement, inspired by natural forms and colors found in Utah Lake and the Wasatch Mountains. The color palette, featuring purples, blues, greens, and golds, adds a vibrant touch to the interior.

Positioned on a bluff overlooking Utah Lake, the Temple benefits from carefully selected local plant species to create a sustainable landscape. The plaza area to the east offers stunning views of the valley, framed by evergreens and mountain shrubs, enhancing the serene environment.

The Temple features a host of amenities, including four instruction rooms, six sealing rooms, and one baptistry, covering a total area of 87,836 square feet. The flooring combines carpet, porcelain tile, ceramic tile, glass tile, and stone, with intricate carved patterns adding a unique touch throughout the interior. In the baptistry, the font is adorned with TREND Mosaic Brillante glass tiles in hues of blue, white, cream, and purple.
Stylized floral designs representing local wildflowers such as the iris, daisy, and chrysanthemum are spread throughout the Temple. In the baptistry and other areas, wave-like patterns evoke the nearby water bodies in the Wasatch Mountain Range and Utah Lake.

Custom decorative light fixtures enrich spaces within the Temple, including a Schonbek fixture in the brides’ room. The interior’s millwork is predominantly Sapele African Mahogany. Certain doors incorporate art glass designs and the decorative door hardware mirrors architectural details found throughout.
The ceilings are primarily made of painted gypsum, embellished with stepped designs and custom medallions featuring floral and foliage embellishments, enhancing the architectural splendor.
