Nestled in the heart of Fort Collins, Colorado, the Fort Collins Colorado Temple stands as the 153rd Operating Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Located at 2180 Majestic Dr, this remarkable site has garnered attention for its stunning design and tranquil surroundings.

A Journey Through Time

The journey toward the Fort Collins Colorado Temple began with its announcement on April 2, 2011, by the Prophet Thomas S. Monson. A significant milestone was achieved on August 24, 2013, during the groundbreaking and site dedication conducted by Ronald A. Rasband. This event laid the groundwork for what would become a cherished location for many.

Official Opening

After years of anticipation, the public open house occurred from August 19 to September 10, 2016, attracting around 105,000 individuals eager to explore this new addition to the Fort Collins area. The event offered a unique opportunity to experience the beauty and serenity of the facility.

On October 16, 2016, a formal dedication took place, performed by the Apostle Dieter F. Uchtdorf. This ceremony marked the official inauguration of the Temple, further solidifying its significance within the region.

Architectural Features

Covering an area of 15.69 acres, the Fort Collins Colorado Temple features a blend of traditional and modern architectural elements. The exterior, fashioned from beige concrete panels, complements the natural landscape, enhancing its aesthetic appeal. Rising to a height of 112 feet, the Temple is accentuated by a single attached central tower topped with a striking gold-leafed Angel Moroni Statue, which was installed on August 26, 2015.

Inside, the space is thoughtfully designed with two instruction rooms, three sealing rooms, and a baptistry, all within a spacious 42,000 square feet. The Temple also includes a chapel situated across the residential street, inviting those in the neighborhood to engage in various activities.

Elevation and Location

Perched at an elevation of 4,921 feet, the Fort Collins Colorado Temple offers stunning views of the surrounding Colorado landscape. As the second Temple built in the state, its presence is a testament to the growth and commitment of the faith in the region.

The Fort Collins Colorado Temple has become an integral part of the area’s fabric, reflecting both the values of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the welcoming spirit of Fort Collins.
