The announcement for the Gilbert Arizona Temple came on April 26, 2008, during a General Conference delivered by the Prophet. This marked the beginning of an exciting journey that culminated in a beautiful architectural achievement. Groundbreaking and site dedication took place on November 13, 2010, led by Elder Claudio R.M. Costa, solidifying the intentions to build a place of worship and reflection for many.
The Open House Experience
A public open house allowed an impressive 407,020 attendees to explore the interior from January 18 through February 15, 2014. Following this welcoming period, the Gilbert Arizona Temple was dedicated on March 2, 2014, by Prophet Thomas S. Monson, though the prayer was given by Henry B. Eyring.

Swarovski Architectural Lighting manufactured the chandeliers and interior light fixtures, thoughtfully incorporating the agave plant and flower into their design. This thematic choice symbolizes the Tree of Life and adds a touch of elegance to the interior space.
Details of Craftsmanship
The interior doors are made of white oak, complemented by bronze door hardware, while the exterior doors also feature bronze craftsmanship. Notably, the railings around the baptismal font are constructed from the same high-quality bronze, reflecting attention to detail that permeates the entire design of the Gilbert Arizona Temple.
